The first Bass Assassins Classic is in the books. The morning started off wet with some rain but it turned out to be a great day on the water, however it wasn't without challenges. When everyone got to the launch they all asked the same thing. Where did the high water come from? As we waited for day break we all sat around jokeing and laughing about old times. Once we had good enough light everyone zipped up their life jackets and waited for their number to be called while going over their game plans in their heads. Once out on the water it didn't take long for folks to start running around from spot to spot trying to find fish. This was obvious the higher water had anglers adjusting patterns. After all the weights were called out the top three were anounced. Team RP3 took home second and third with third place going to Chris Basey who brought in a 6 lbs. 13 oz. limit. Ronald Pierre took home second with a 7 lbs. 7 oz. limit. The first Bass Assassins Classic champion is Steve Rushmeier who brought in a big limit tipping the scales at 11 lbs. 8 oz. Steve also caught the big fish of the day which was a beautiful 5 lbs. 12 oz. bass. Along with the first place money Steve also brought home a nice trophy and a tackle pack from RP3 Custom lures.
